View Full Version : Ubud market, Bali
Just came back and already confirmed going back again in Oct...that shows what a great place Bali is! I have been to Bali many times prior to me taking up photography in 2006 and this time I was well prepared. Booked ourselves into Ubud Village Hotel which is 10 min's walk to the market. Went there every morning. :)

I like #1. The glow of light softly entering the market brings out the whole scene.
I absolutely love the 1st picture ! Reminds me of the time when I walking there ... perfect capture.

I love #1 too. I was there early that morning (sun was up at 6am in Bali!) and when I saw that light I had to capture it. I am glad it turned up well. :D

I did go there before in 2005, during that time, only use film camera.
Love #1, #5 & #6
The first one is having the morning market feeling :-)
Both 5 & 6 are just like painted pictures, especially no 5. Like oil paint :D
You are terrific!

Thank you and sorry for the late reply! I just landed after another "holiday" in Bali. This time it was 4 days of photography (only). Visited my "friends" in Ubud market and more. Good a lot of cool images to share...as soon as I have processed them. :D

You will get cheap accomodation in Ubud. I stayed there for few nights at Balinese house. To your surprise, less than RM50, including simple breakfast :)

Thanks QQ. I metered it off one of the balloons. BTW I used the 85/1.4 for this one...was taking portraits when I saw the "light". :)

It was excellent! I have never taken so many interesting photographs at one go so much so that I do not know where to start processing 1st.
Going to Bali used to be much cheaper until this dreaded oil price increase...air ticket from Matta fair RM800+, otherwise RM1400+. However expenses in Bali is still fairly cheap. There are many budget hotels around Ubud (ask Pete) and all are very accessible. We engaged the service of this guide who was instructed to take us to non-touristy areas to shoot. Well, just one word to describe the places he took us to...YUMMY! :)
