What will happen to 1D MK III

With Nikon's latest slam dunk, I wonder what will happen to Canon 1D MK III, in terms of price and additional specs thrown in, any luck finding out?

Quite frankly the D3 tries to be an all in one camera BUT it is not. The D2Xs is a better camera for sports because it's on a DX format and the crop factor of 1.5 is a big bonus. I read in Nikonian forum pros who use telephotos for their work will not be giving up their D2Xs.

The 1DMkIII is dedicated for use with teles, they're made for the sports reporters. So sorry D3 lovers, you won't see much change when you see football matches because there will still be more white lenses out there than black ones!

As for the studios that need to do big prints, they don't want 12MP. S#!t that's for amateurs. The pros won't look at them. It's the 1DsMkIII for the pros!

a full frame (FX format) at 12MP is... well, i dun have a word to describe this slack back. actually im more interested in trying to imagine what would happen if Nikon were to take their DX format down a notch lower and put it in a segment between D300 and D(1 digit series) to compete with 5D segment.

I still think it's apples and oranges...

Besides D40 vs 350D & D40x vs 400D, all other canons and nikons cannot be directly compared to each other as they are at different price points and different features.

I find it hard to place the cams into direct competition with each other besides the beginner models.

and like i said, unless nikon comes out with a mid segment full frame cam, 5D is standing alone at that special corner
