Can't recall, I view and delete away unwanted shots on the spot. I guess 100 or more probably.

hola! :?
Given the 'size' (:D :D :D ) and flying speed of this chap, the OOF is acceptable

Lotsa hard work here

No special technique shooting in-flight hoverfly. First of all, you got to find one, haha. then you need a small chair if they are hovering in bushes near ground. It is going to take you a long time shooting it. Usually they will hovering on the same spot for few seconds. Manual focus is suggested as you can pre-focus first the spot. Wait till they come back again to the same spot and click. This fella is quite sensitive to flash, the moment you fire the flash he is out of you frame. Make friend with him first by firing many shots while he is resting or in the air. Do not go too near, start from a comfortable distance, firing some shots, then slowly move nearer and shoot again.
All of the above shots are taken with hand held. You can use tripod if you want.
Simple right ? What are you waiting for ?

haha.... try the above method.

That will be great, Caveman.
I wonder if there are others who would be interested to join in. Maybe we should start a new thread on this.
