My First SLR......

Hi Guys,

I just got my first canon 400 D also got 90-300 mm lens from YL ( they rock:rasta: ) I have a question how do i take B&W photos? I am very new to photography, just took up the hobby to keep me occupied so that i dont be too naughty:wink_smile:, please excuse me if my question is a bit off hand

There's various ways to do black and white conversion, the simplest but least interesting just hitting the grayscale button.

The most commonly used which gives good tones is using the channel mixer.

This can give you some nice contrasty and punchy black and white images.
