k100D super Pentax

I was walking at the Gardens, Megamall today, when i spotted a new camera shop at 2nd flr isetan side...got talking with the people there. Since it was opening day, i walked out with a brand new K100D super Pentax , standard kit lens with 2gb Ultra II sandisk as well. All for rm1850!! Now i feel like one of the gang now....BTW still trying to get rid of my lumix fz50 for rm1800 with everything in it....anyone can help me out??:run_away:: :partyon::rasta::tongue_roll:

err''... have you used the Pentax itself? how it is picture quality?
i'm planning to get a DLSR at price range RM2000 - RM2200..
either Pentax or Nikon D40.. any suggestion?

One of the main reasons I bought the pentax was because I used to have a film slr, Pentax ME super and I have lots of lens from there. A 50mm 1,2, a 85mmf2 and a 40mm 1,4 lens, also a 400mm telephoto and one vivitar zoom 70-210. Other than that, i guess the price is too good to be true to get a DLSR with image stabiliser and dust remover. I love the Auto Pict which means that all my family can use it without any learning curve. Just picking it up and will post pictures as when i have to chance to do so. Whether nikon or pentax or canon, all are good in their strengths. All i can say is your budget will determine which camera to buy first if you dont have that much to splurge. Pentax super100D, Nikon D40 and EOS350d? this is my first dslr, so i cannot comment or advise which is the better camera. REading all the websites (dpreview/znet, etc) only serves to confuse me more. BUt these 3 cameras have high ratings and i think u wont go far wrong with any of them..start with it and then move up when u can. My next level is a K10d. Or when the time comes for an upgrade, there might be a another newer and better features model by then...good luck:? ;):rolleyes::P:run_away::D

hehehe, superb percik. :D nah, seriously, good pics. I hv put a lot thoughts before this, regarding wht system to buy earlier dis year, in the end I took Canon EOS 350d (actually it's for my client bt he wanted d new 400d so I changed it n put it as my own camera :?). I always like pentax dSLRs n hoped that I wud buy one of them if God's willing. k100d super has good specs at a reasonable price.

by the way, check dis new lens out, it's smc DA 18-250mm ED AD(IF) for pentax. mite ask d retailers to bring dis new lens in to buy (or at least juz try :P) though it mite take a few months from now. for me, k100d super n dis flexible lens shud b a good pair.

Was walking around Berjaya Times square and bought a zoom lens, Pentax FAJ 75-300 F4.5-5.8 AL for rm 760. Tried it out immediately and below are the photos...wonder if the zoom pic at max was not sharp due to lens or my hands shaking:?

Actually it's ur hands shaking...use a higher ISO to combat the shaking .

I have just got a sigma 70-300 APO for around 350 second hand..and the results is superb. Personally i like the result better than the pentax FAJ series.

at the 300mm ..as the lens extends..it is very easy to introduce shaking.

And the movement of the dancers at 1/20 you won't be freezing their motion.

You need a fast lens for a low-light situation like that.
