Hi guys, here's a test image which I kinda took without any form of controlled lighting to check out it's noise level. I'm providing just the resized ones and not the original JPEG (converted from CR2) which is kinda big in size...
still trying to find a way to do a 100% crop without affecting the pixels. any help would be appreciated.
ISO800 resized
6856
ISO1600 resized
6857

Just use the crop tool in Photoshop to crop a small section without any resizing, then save it as a jpeg.

jay, what pic style did u use? did u set the sharpness level to 0?(sharpening increases noise)

the patterns look uniform mah.. can be accepted..
The shot @ ISO800, is it moire on the leaves or just the surface of the (artifical?) flower?

alan - i think, if u are refering to the texture of the flower petals/leaf, then the grainy texture u see is actually the texture of the synthetic material used to make this fake sunflower i shot
yeah BCS - i did do some onboard sharpening. oops :P

Not bad. Don't sharpen & u will get less noise.
