This is a beauty dish actually, not a ring flash.

Proper name la.

Been meaning to make one of these for a while, it's essential for fashion/glamour shooting.

ST, I think it is a DIY ringflash. The last diagram shows it mounted on the lens and the flash is actually below the body.

Oh yah my bad flash is mounted at the bottom not in the center.

Hope the foil doesn't fall off while shooting Amber Chia, it would be embarrassing! :D

Using these bowls make it rather heavy & cumbersome (right hand hold cam left hold flash?) ... I guess you need to fabricate a bracket that locks on to the tripod socket on your cam to keep it in place.

There's a czech guy who's made one & already in production ... selling for >usd100 or was it gbp ... either way expensive .... light efficiency also low (a user told me about 2 stops less).

Foil is stick very well with the bowl ,even u break the bowl also can't remove it !

what u want to expect to this cheapest product?hahaha, unless u go to buy a macro flash with Rm2XXX otherwise DIY ,and light efficiency pretty enough for Canon user ,Max sync shutter speed is 1/250 ,sometime may over expose also if u not control the flash and aperture correctly,u can use it with flash Bracket !:run_away::run_away:
