All monies will be accounted for. We have decided last time when starting the forum that the books will be open if you wish to see it, as this forum was built for forummers...

At moment, money collected will be used to cover the costs of printing our stuff, then other things such as SA overhead costs, extra monies will be ploughed back to benefit SA members and site...

The last thing you would want is ppl taking up a case with you in case anything goes wrong or if there is any future disagreements. As far as I know if you're building "membership" u will need to have a legal entity. Forgive me as i'm not aware if shutterasia is registered as a legal entity in malaysia (ie.society, co....etc). if it is registered, please forgive my ignorance and i'll gladly join in heh :)

Believe me you wont want to go through the trouble of setting up a society if the objective is just to get together with people and doing common interest things.

There will be requirement to maintain proper books of account, submit annual report, submit tax return for claiming exempt status, hold AGM and elect Board members and chairman and blur blur blur... Or penalty!!

Must think twice the pro and cons.

Would love to join SA too! Very new to this forum. Let me share some opinion for collecting member fees from general public. It doesn't really need to be a ROS to collect membership but agreement must be agreed upon sign-up is a safer way if you caught in legal problem.

Most of the motorsport club (those you seen in Hypertune example) is not ROS registered and they are collecting membership feel (like RM150 per annum). Members get some sponsorship and goodies bag upon sign up, forum maintenance fees and etc... going in ROS is really beyond hazzle. Eventhough I run my own club (MEOC), I can tell you need someone "influencial" behind the club to get the ROS.

I apologize if my inability to keep up with the members has caused anyone distressed but unfortunately due to time contraints it is virtually impossible for me to reply to all the PM's on the each person's status because:

1. 50% of ppl who requested details did not bank in money or if they did did not notify me.

2. 20% of ppl gave me their details and said they will bank in money or if they did nvr notified me

3. cards are printed by my supplier and i collect them when i can, which at the moment is every 2-3 weeks due to me being busy.

4. I still have dozens of cards which are uncollected, no mailing address, and in limbo due to lack of info from ppl who requested.

5. I have had problems with pos malaysia, where ppl have not received their cards after i have sent. Have yet to receive any return mail. In cases like that, i have to redo printing again.

6. most ppl nvr inform me that they have never received their cards and stickers until month later.

Due to the above reasons, it will take someone who works on this full time to track each and every member, in which no one has that amount of time cos we are all working full time jobs.

I try my best to get around to it when i can, but usually do so when i know i have the time to follow through one batch.

Currently due to my work load, my estimated time is around 1 month before you receive your card and sticker.
