How come didn't post pics of the trees where their branches form an arch across the road to reach the lake? :)
That's the most iconic scene of Taiping lake, IMHO.

I love Taiping. The food is great, and cheap! Seldom visit the town now that my grandma is staying with us. Did I say the food is great?

Hey csjian,

Some minor C&C
I particularly like number 2. Some of your photo's horizons aren't straight.

My two cents

My faves: #1, #2, #3, #6, #7

#1 could do with tighter crop, doing away with the sky and the reflection of the sky, reducing it to just the bridge, background foliage and respective reflection. Ditto for #7.

All taken with wide angle?

Thanks for all the suggestion. will try it later.all the photo taken by my D70s,18-70mm kit lens. This lens do have a bit wide angle. the bridge a bit too far for my zoom. :)
i do have a horizontal for the #1

hi csjian,

perhaps i could comment on yr settings..

ISO - too high, pix will be grainy at full size. try 200, since it's daylight. better still use a tripod if speed too low for handheld.
aperture at f/11 is ok but can try from f/8 onwards.
color mode - use III.....nicer for nature shots
sharpening - use +2 (if shooting jpeg).
saturation - use "enhance" to bring out the greens...

cheers!

Hi pic is too big, please limit to 800pixels. Thanks!

looks nice ! you can try various settings to see what suits yr preference. with a 50mm lens you can get a +3/+4 close-up filter which shortens the minimum focusing distance so you can get closer. otherwise, if budget permits, get a dedicated macro lens such as the tamron 90mm or the nikkor 105mmVR to shoot really close & sharp pictures. happy shooting !
