No...always in jpeg...never in raw...what happens if i switch to raw? how do i i convert it back to jpeg if requried? will this affect the speed of my k100d super in continous shooting speed ( anyway my k100d only goes up to 5 max )

Fuuuyoohhh, you're so lucky dude ... mouth watering!!! Moussaka makes me think of a Jamie Oliver recipe for a cheesy seafood bake with that lime/lemon leaf (don't know what they call already)

ummmm you don't really shoot foodie pics with continuous mode do you? There are free RAW converters on the net:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rls=com.microsoft%3Aen-us%3AIE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7ADBF&q=gimp+free+raw+converter+pentax
Best thing about shooting RAW is you can fiddle with WB at PP stage. Give it a try :)

Lu_fc2001, maybe you can read more about your k100d here at dpreview (http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/PentaxK100D/). It pays to know your camera better! :D

If you want to shoot in Jpeg and get good results I suggest you buy a PnS or Prosumer type camera.
SLRs are meant to be used in RAW and will give rather flat results in Jpeg, especially Pentax which also gives rather soft Jpegs but perfect detail in RAW files.

after all the raw talk, i now shoot in raw... the only issue now is that i have to convert only the good shots ( at least i think they are good ) to jpeg. Above picture is the first food picture taken in raw and converted using Pentax software. Do not know how to tweak it yet as just let it do automatic conversion and save in highest jpeg quality.
