Good day All,
Looking into getting a spare battery pack for my 350D. Don't know should i get the Ori one or a 3rd party one...:?
Just afraid the 3rd party one might damage the camera or something...any advice?
Thanks in advance :) :)

Only look at 3rd party if there is no original kit, especially for things like battery grips where you are only saving RM200-300 by using a third party grip.
Those by Hahnel etc are not bad, but they are not the same quality nor as reliable as original.
I'd 100% recommend buying the original grip.

Thanks for the advice!
You got a point there, why risk it when already spent that much on the Camera itself :D
Actually not looking for a grip yet, just want an extra battery as a backup :)
Cheers!

Ah well same goes for batteries, and yes when you've spend between RM2-4000 on a camera body, why skimp on accessories?

agree with ST!! pastikan ori!! hahaha. Canon's NB2L battery life is just plain stupid...cant last very long. sigh...

Hi foxxy. On top of the original batt that came with my 350D, I also bought a spare 3rd party one - "KEEP" brand! I've been using it ever since (interchangebly with the original). It's cheaper than the original and infact, it lasts longer.

i hv also been using a 3rd party battery for my previous D70s for more than a year and there has been no issues. but of course, nothing beats having originals...

well...for the canon 350/400d, the compatibles last twice as long as the originals do. im also contemplating on the compatibles as they last twice as long and its also twice as cheap.
the only thing i did read/hear from forummers and dealers is that make sure the compatibles are not charged overnight. that's about it. but nevertheless...still thinking about the fact i've spent 2-4k on the camera...might as well not hold back on ori batts...
