Anyone made any recent back orders with Canon Malaysia ? I'm still awaiting mine

Just looking for another friend in the same position. :(

I made an order for a lens with Jason from J-One on the 5th of October 07 and as its a not-that-common lens, a back order from Canon Japan would be required. I gave an expectancy of about 3 weeks to arrive, but Jason updated my that it won't reach anything sooon. Expected to be Mid of next month.. :0:0:0

I could have been wrong previously , as I made a back order for my 135L and it did come from Japan and it only took 2 1/2 weeks. Probably back luck, with the recent shipment from Japan just happen.

Any SA member out there made back orders ? I heard from Jason another fellow photographer made an order for a 400mm lens, hope its not for the MotorGP.

Now I have to replan all my leaves to accommodate the arrival of the new lens :(

I had a back order for my 300mm f2.8L IS. It took more than a month to arrive and mind you I paid the full amount to the dealer and then waited. These telephoto lenses are being sent to China by the hundreds to fulfil the back orders for pros and hobbyists to get their lenses before the Olympics!

zzzzz... feels like forever for my lens to reach. heheh Dont think that Olympics would use 180L macro :P

Sometimes its luck, if there is a shipment , its there. How nice of Japan was just next to us. Hmm.. maybe not so near.. later earth quake..
