I am beginning to wonder if i bought the right camera..k100d super...there are very very few accessories and lenses for pentax here. everywhere i go there are only nikon and canon lenses, sigma and tamron also for these 2. 3rd party flashes also cater for these 2. Penxtax? susah lah nak dapat. I have only the kit lens, 18-55 and i bought a FAJ70-300mm lens. i really am thinking of getting a all rounder lens that I can use to "replace" the 2 lens...i hear the tamron has a very good lens, 28-250mm or there abouts but none of the shops here in kl have...anyone can help? does anyone have a pentax price list like the ones i saw for nikon and canon? :run_away::mad::P:redface:

That's the only reservation I have with recommending people to Pentax here, it'll be EXTREMELY difficult to get accessories and 3rd party lenses.

The Pentax K10D is one of the best cameras on the market, but unfortunately in Malaysia it's not a good market for Pentax kit.

You can try ordering from a shop or ordering from overseas.

im using pentax k100d super too...its true that getting lens for pentax is quite hard,u have to really dig in then u find it.try third party,its easier to find.at least it is for me :)

If you wanna do a walk-in purchase then it's a bit difficult. Order the stuff that you want. I do that at Keat and they'll get the stuff quite fast, relatively.
If you expect to go from shop to shop to get the best price then forget it!

I have the same problem with some Canon as well as Nikon lenses sometimes, so I'll just order and wait. Just have to be patient.

i had the Tamron 18-200mm macro. Very nice!!

although i still prefer my DA21mm for the compactness :D

I order my Tamron at Ampcorp mall's j-one. Take a few days to arrive though.

Not all shop carry pentax stuff. But Midvalley's Trillion Photo had all the pentax lens i wish to buy, on the shelves! just no $$ :D

Garden's photo splah (? can't remember the name) also carry pentax stuff.

Actually the cameras from Pentax are legendary good, good quality optics and build that rivals both canon and nikon easily...but the marketing people at shriro are not doing a lot.

Look at clubsnap singapore..their pentax community there are as large as the canon community and them getting lenses seems much more easier as camera shops there recognizes the community there

Here..a lot of people have this mindset making pentax an underdog and with the feeble no marketing gimmick from shriro ,....many camera shops are reluctant to sell pentax lenses, accesories as a lot of people having a wrong mindset bout underdog brands.


Kinda like AMD vs Intel.


try looking out for manual lenses..good value and superb optics...and available in their screw mount ...and these lenses are metal mounted and some are very tough ...
