If u look carefully, it's part of the barbed wire fence... Deliberately left in to give that feel of caged in the life feel...

The old man's expression a bit difficult to see....maybe because of the lighting?

Should have left more of the barb wire fence and increased DOF to get the "caged feel"......this photo quite melancholy...
