And to me there seems to be way too much empty white space. Image also seems a bit soft, try a little smart sharpen or unsharp mask in photoshop.

Just shoot, trying out or intend to convey something?
Depending on the above - tighter crop, differing background colours, at least one other item for contrast, some shadows would help.

I suggest write some italics wording or some pencil drawing, make it more attractive.....and i thk the DOF more attractive......

I like the empty space and the shallow DOF. This is an image not so much a photo of a pencil so the empty space works. But the focal point of the whole image is the tip of the pencil and that needs to be pin sharp. But it's not. Pity.
