SA terminology

I am still quite new to forums...i always see there are some terminologies...like sms in a way...is there a helppage for newbies on such terminologies so that we can understand what is being said? for example..i am still trying to figure out what is the following:
1. BUMP
2. UP
3. IR
4. HRD etc etc...

Ooo hehe .. guess i can help :P

1) BUMP - I believe it stands for "Bring Up My Post" ... for example u have a thread ... but for some reason people just missed it .. nvr comment or nvr say anything .. so it drops to the next page .. usually people dont read the 2nd page and people will forget your page :P So what you do it just type "BUMP" and your thread is "refreshed" and will be at the top of the list ..

2) UP - should be same as BUMP .. correct me if i'm wrong

3) IR - Infrared .. a special kind of filter that gives an interesting effect ... check out the titiwangsa eye of malaysia photo .. i like ;)

4) HDR - I think u meant HDR instead of hrd ? Anyway HDR = High Dynamic Range ... too long to explain .. you should wiki/google it :P But basically is combining a few images ( under - normal - over / exposed ) to get the perfect exposure using software PP ...

5) PP - incase you're wondering PP = post processing ? :P ( i think )
