Dear All,

Does anyone know what is the different between "Evaluative" & "Average"? It is for what reason? Mostly apply on what situation?

It is a E-TTL II function setting can be found from the flash or from the Canon DSLR.. :?

Please advice. Many Thanks..

I had problem with using Evaluative mode with distance reporting lenses (to work with E-TTL2) before so I just use average.

i am using average setting. reason: evaluative tends to reduce the fill light and depends on FEL (*) too much. 1 wrong lock & the whole image is under or over ... not conducive for event shooting. the setting can be accessed in the camera custom function, not the flash. pls take note that while using average, u have to dail the EV manually to suit the scene. i hope this help.
