Kenro recently launched the Nissin Di622 (http://www.kenro.co.uk/en/UK/product/NFG001N/4/606/Nissin+Di622+Flash+Gun+for+Nikon+Cameras.html) and i'm wondering if any of you have used it before?

Basically it's:
- Plain easy to use, no complicating menus
- More powerful than SB-600
- About the same price as SB-400

A friend of mine has been using his with a D50 for quite awhile now and he's yet to face any problems. I'm wondering if any of you have experience with this flash unit as well :)

no comments on this flash unit? I saw it today at LYP selling for sub RM 600. tempting.

i heard Sunpak also have a nice equivalent. not sure which model.

Heard of it and seen it. Looks very much like the Falcon Eyes/Vivitar DF400 which I'm using only without the read LCD screen. Hopefully it doesn't share the "head jamming" problem as mine has.

my experience with nissin "cup noodle" speedlight...:D

-the range cover same as SB800...24mm - 105mm
-it come with wide angle diffuser and bounce card...so it's like SB800
-the head is biggest...outstand SB600 and SB800..
-can do optical trigger...so can trigger by other flash...but please bare in mind...only if the camera set to TTL..if it set to manual...nissin wont fire...
-recycle time bit sux...full power about 6 sec...
-cannot pair with "ebay" radio trigger aka. Cactus Radio Trigger...so if u plan for jump into creative lighting..this unit is not recommended..

so that what i can think of...but for a start..i love it..as it served it purpose..

well i wasn't to happy with the Di-622 performance so i sold it...

at that time i bought it at RM 475 or close...but now the price has went up so i'd STRONGLY suggest a used SB-600 instead

for the best bang for buck. the SB800 is worth every penny. it has better built and alot more of cool features. SB600 make good slaves

yep its really how much you need out of ur flash unit..i found the SB-800 having too many complicating features which slowed me down..

so i got the SB-600 instead and used my pop-up as Commander...

I sold out my Nissin and grab SB-800. Sometimes not given balance exposed.

it's a good flash like what was mentioned in earlier post except that there's no wireless trigger in the market for nissin flash... my Di622 works well for 1 week and then the problem starts, everytime i rotate the head, it won't fire. i brought it back to the shop where i bought it & the flash work perfectly i.e. can rotate and fire... sigh. the problem will crop up once a while, but i guess u get what u pay for. other than that it work perfectly well, honestly...
