Hi i am currently using the k10d with the kit lens 18-55mm. Am looking for a faster and slight longer lens and looking at the above sigma lens. any one used this before? how is it and any photos to share? :?

Basically a great lens
good focal length for holiday and some event shoots
Short and handy
Very useful Macro feature
but as with all sigma lens with EX coating, it peels and you can see
this picture, it is not scratches ....notice how smooth and shinny the surface

my sigma 24-70mm (most used lens) doesn't have any sign of wear n tear at all...IMHO yours could probably a manufacturers defect/bad copy.
coz in fact you can see many ppl who own similar lenses have different experience with the body coating...i have a 4 year old sigma and it hasn't worn out at all
@TS, get the tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 instead...because the sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4 hardly allows you to shoot at f/2.8 which really defeats the purpose since you're looking for a fast lens
