5AM in the morning? wow, how did u get all the background and the wordings on the tarmac so clear? Flashed it or slow shutter speed as the sun is not up yet, I assumed...
Very nice contrast control. Love the noise though not all will like it.... :D

thanks galee. i'm glad u like it. :D
ok, about the shot, i didn't fire any flash.
just boost to ISO800 and 1/13 secs shutter speed handheld using Nikkor 50mm/f1.8.
and i have to thanks TNB for placing that street lights nearby. :D
but it was yellowish street light.
that's why i decided to convert it to B&W to get more mood into it.
about the B&W conversion, i adjusted curve on different layers, playing with contrast to get the amount that i think is nice (i hope! :D ).
it involved a few layers & process.
it's more like experimenting since i'm also a n00b in photoshop.

no lar... we all here to learn together-gether.... :D
if u have difficulty, just ask at forum or shoutbox... don't worry! :D
1. Technical: the exposure is ok
2. Composition: the viewers attention is first drawn to the words "BAS" then to the curbs. From there the lines lead the viewer out of the picture. The lines do not flow to the background opposite the road . So taking out that part of the picture will not effect the composition.
3. Overall: the inspiration is there but the message is somewhat diluted.
Hope this helps

thanks max for your view.
i did felt the photo is out of place a bit since it does not have any strong point or strong subject in it.
but the thing i like about the photo is how the word "BAS" blends in with the curb & how does the poles on the curb blend in with the lines on the road.
and yes, the divider bar should not be there. i should have cropped it.
i need to work more on my composition. :D
thank you so much, your views are noted & will help me in the future.
so anymore comments or view anyone? :)
