The 'virgin's apartment,' that's the meaning of Parthenon.

They are called the Caryatids because they were modelled after the women from Karyai.

The Greece Government is trying to restore the whole Acropolis to its past time glory, so I guess it'll take them another few years more.

Beautiful pictures and nice website.
Thanks uncle noordin. :D

'Kouros' in Ancient Greek words means a male youth. This is a giant 'kouros' from Thebes dating back to the Archaic Period of Greek sculpture.

This is the most celebrated piece of the Mycenaen masks: the Mask of Agamemnon. There are several others but not as popular as this one.

The Central Market

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i165/ckii96/Greece/Greece_086_Central_Market.jpg
There are many types of fish to choose from, all in wooden crates. I think most of the fish markets in Malaysia use stainless steel trays. This is what I call the different ways of life.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i165/ckii96/Greece/Greece_089_Central_Market.jpg
Although it is a market with mainly food stuff, you'll find some stalls selling art pieces too. Does this have any relation to the butcher?

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i165/ckii96/Greece/Greece_091_Central_Market.jpg
Another fruit stall that sells mainly tomatoes. Are tomatoes fruit or vegetable?

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i165/ckii96/Greece/Greece_095_Central_Market.jpg
What is the green grape doing in a pile of red grapes?

This is the last part of my post on Athens. I'll put up a new thread on the Greek islands soon. :)
