Which one would you prefer? Why? Thinking of getting one, but can't decide.
If i get the Tamron 17-50mm, I might not have to get a wide angle, but if i get the 28-75mm, most definitely have to get a wide range (which is not a problem, but maybe later). So, in your opinion and based on your experience (if you have these lenses) in terms of IQ, etc. which is the better between these 2? Pls dont suggest an L lens coz I wont be able to afford it. Hehehe.. :run_away:

17-50mm f/2.8.
28-75 is for full frame.

Because of the 1.6x factor?

Yup, 28mm on crop sensor is not wide at all.

I would say depends on what you want to shoot. If you like potraits, the 28-75 is fantastic (i'm using one), for landscapes then it's got to be 17-50.
I initially bought the 17-50mm but it had back-focusing problems and the next day I took it back to YL to change for 28-75mm as they didnt had any other copy (I understand from them the 17-50mm especially had QC problems).. so check out your copy carefully...
Hope this helps..:)

Good choice! Btw, I'm also like you, using a 350D and using kit lense for landscapes. Going to get the wide-angle soon... will need advice from the pros here!
Happy shooting with your new lense and looking forward to your new pics soon...
