The Idea Of North was in Alexis Bistro before they head out to Penang Island Jazz Festival.

They were absolutely entertaining, and very-very hilarious! :adore:
If you like a capella/vocal jazz bands, don't miss them for the world when they drop by M'sia again.

You can go check out some captions that accompany the photos in my weblog (http://iamyuanwu.wordpress.com/2007/11/30/the-idea-of-north-in-alexis-bistro/). They are the same pictures.

Drop me a comment if you think there are ways to improve.

All were taken with 50mm F/1.8 iso1000(D70s) at the back of the restaurant. Only resized for web, no PP.
They were lit with very yellow and very dim lights. The restaurant was also totally dark. It was packed with people, I was left standing a corner.

Not bad, but it would be better if at your next opportunity, get up closer (longer lens or get a better seat) to capture their facial expressions :) A cappella bands are usually very hilarious and animated during their performances :) And when you've got their expression up close, convert it to B&W and it'll make a great, expressive photo.

Another very good a cappella band to watch out for is Java Five. They were in KL recently, but they'll be back again. I think you've seen those pics I posted of them a couple of months back in another forum :)

Yeah.

1 and a half hours of The Idea Of North. That more than makes up for not going to Penang Jazz Fest. My only reason for wanting to go to Penang Jazz Fest was because of them.

I love your Java Five photos!
I couldn't go early enough due to other commitments. Darn, the seat were all fully booked and there were so many people standing! One lady (I think she's the employee or rep) didn't allow me to take photos up close when I tried to move to the side of the stage (hmmm... weird). Will go earlier next time.

Drop me a message if you heard of any a capella bands playing in KL. I'll try to attend.

Good for you, I'm too tied down with work to go :(

Idea of North is one of my favourite a cappella bands as well...
