i just bought my first dslr (canon) a few months back, i'm thinkiig to get a shot tele zoom for my camera and to use as main lense. since i don't take lanscape that much, i can sacrifies wide ange for more zoom.
i know that canon equivalent of the lense is the best but the price is way to much for me.
currently looking at the cheap sigma 24-135mm 2.8-4.5?
what do you guy think? any other suggestion..

What about Tamron 28-75mm f2.8? It's a great lens in cheap price tag. Very sharp and good in optical quality.

Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 is my first choice, second would be Sigma 18-50mm HSM f/2.8.
If you want something more versatile perhaps look at the Sigma 18-200mm OS.

the tamron 17-50mm f2.8 is a great lense, but wouldn't is be a little to short?
i mean, it only about 80mm at tele end (plus a 1.6x crop factor)...
there tamron 18-200mm OS DC is a good choice, but with a rm1.7k price tag. a noob like me will have to wait for it.

Yeah it is, but 50-70mm range on crop sensor isn't that useful, it's kind of in between.
The wider end is more useful for scenery, buildings and landscapes.
Ideal combo is something like Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 and Sigma 50-150m f/2.8.
