Dear all sifus,

i have a Tamron 17-50, but i'm actually thinking to get a nikkor 18-200vr.

Questions:

1. Should i keep the 17-50? i have budget constraints so i'd like to sell the tamron to fund nikon lens.

2. Nikkor 18-200vr VS tamron 17-50+ nikkor 70-300vr, which combination is better?

need your advice.

tq

subjective, what do you normally shoot? If you shoot low light keep the tammy. VR compensates camera shake but not moving subjects, but for travelling and casual shooting, the 18-200 is much more convenient. MHO.

I'm using the Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 and the Nikkor 70-300mm VR, so there's my answer :)

If you don't really need the extra focal length, top up a few hundred (from the 70-300vr) & get the sigma 50-150 ... that way you're f2.8 all the way from 17-150 :)

definitely 2nd choice. get 70-300VR and keep the 17-50.
not that 18-200 is bad but the thing is, u already got a wide & fast lens.
getting 18-200 and get rid of the 17-50 for me is like downgrading.
