the yellow+red sign got my attention first instead of building

tighter the crop, will be better

Yah same here, would prefer the signboard cropped or cloned out.

i understand that saintemilion might want to include the small building on the far right.
so i suggest that to removed that pole, i mean take out the pole out of the ground. *LOL*
i'm just kidding. nway, i really want to go to Dubai to see this great hotel.
nice capture btw. :D
keep it coming. i want to see more. :)

Lovely, the Burj al-Arab, on such a clear day too :D
I second zumi, too bad about the sign .... on the other hand it does give a scale reference of sorts :D

Perhaps a few more shots from different angles?
And welcome to SA :D

I have a different opinion regarding the signboard. I think it gives us the sense of distance and scale. It works for me. :) It'll work even better if the signboard is placed at the lower-right one-third focal point.

I can't imagine what saintemillion is trying to express here. Maybe he wants the sign where it is to give a sense of space. But if that is so than he should have included the whole sign. This picture however has many possibilities of improving, the colour, saturation etc. Nice composition though.

Most of us commented how the picture should be if we are taking it but I always try to visualise what the photographer is trying to tell me. His view. :)

maybe he's trying to tell us a beach that can not swim event spent billions of dollars inside?

Well IMHO he's trying not to cut off the outcrop coming from the hotel, which resulted in the sign also being in frame.

It would be nice he stood in front of the sign to get a clear shot of the Burg and the outcrop.

thank you everyone. I was rush that time because I been told I have only 15 mins to take photo. and so many ppl around busy taking photo. I need to ran far away from my group to snap few clean shots. I total agree the signboard is very kacau!

for some reason, i do like the 1st picture with the signboard.

i like the splash of yellow and the tongue in cheek feel of the picture (lovely beach, yeah but no swimming!)

Me too. The signboard really stands out with its vivid color and really catches attention and makes people wondering what messsage the photog trying to convey.

The 1st in another angle is nice...the people accentuate the size of the Burj
