SD cards

Hi all,

I only have a 512mb SD card (I think it is a PenDrive 50x) for my D40, planning to buy an extra card this weekend, what brand do you recommend? Shall I get those 150x speed card? Any benefit to get a faster card, since I'm having a low fps camera? Thanks.

I wouldn't worry too much about speed, more about reliability.

I always recommend people to buy Sandisk cards, most reliable and reasonable price.

You can get something like the Ultra II series which is not that expensive any more, and fast enough for your usage.

i agree with ShaolinTiger.
i also use Sandisk 2GB Ultra II SD for my Nikon D50.
so far, it can survive cold weather in US and also hot weather in Malaysia.
i don't think much about speed coz if i want speed, i would not get my D50. :D

This is my 1st purchase on SD card, the PenDrive SD was a free gift from my daughter's mp3 player.

Previously, I bought Kingston CF ProElite card for my A70 PnS cam, this time will consider Sandisk for the D40, if the price is within my budget.

I use a RM65 (or thereabout) SD (2G) card on my Epson R-D1 which I bought during a "promotion" at the foyer of Mid-Valley. I don't even remember the name of its label.

So far no problems. :)

How much does a Sandisk cost ?

For camera liks D40 it didn't required up to 150x speed 66X is more than enough already.(for a 6mp, 2.5fps camera)
Anyway product reliability is more important than speed. Personal choice is Sandisk ultra II 2gb. Full life warranty... but make sure is genuine card from Photomarketing
