Does anyone know if the B+W filters bought in HK are genuine as I read in this forum that those sold in KL are not genuine.
Am comparing the cost of buying some of these filters between Singapore & HK.
Anyone knows the prices of the B+W 62mm & 77 mm Clear UV Haze (010)s?
Thanks

Those sold in Singapore are genuine.

The price between SG/HK would be negligible.

According to B+W Germany email reply, both are genuine. However, one is for the China market (a.k.a. Asian version on Ebay). Eg. got aluminium alloy ring instead of the standard brass ring.

OP in Singapore sells the China version. CP in Singapore sells the international version.

Malaysian got no official B+W distributor.

Does anyone have Yannick's contact. If his prices are not too much higher than HK/Singapore, I'll consider.
I wonder why B+W makes different types of rings i.e. alu for China and brass for Int.? Hopefuly the most impt is the lens quality, otherwsie I'm better off buying Hoya Pro1 SHMC.
By the way what is OP in S'pore.. I know what CP is... am going there soon anyway

I also dunno what is OP. It was mention at Clubsnap. Maybe ask the SG people there?

Different ring materials? According to B+W, they are to cater for different market segments.

Hoya Pro1D got fogging problem. I never had fogging problem on a B+W filter.

For example, car windows get get foggy too. If it is very humid outside, and the air conditioner is turn off, water can condense on the inside of the glass.

Oh... this 'fogging' :D B+W filters don't condense? Special coating? I remember applying a special lotion to my swimming goggles to prevent this - same principle?

To add to donnyyoe's post, both aluminum and brass are sold by yannick. The brass being more expensive. Both types are genuine.

I bought 2 from yannick. Not bad. Very good.. it doesn't affect the metering. No wonder when my photographer friends saw the B+W filter on my lens, they were amazed how I managed to get hold of it.
