Hey guys,

Yesterday went to curve for dinner, came out at the Street. It was evening and it was after the heavy rain, so took my camera out and wanted to snap some shots....after about a while the guard standing nearby just shouted at me and say "HELLO! no photograph here!Go!!" in a pretty rude manner....
Gosh..i was like...WTH..didnt know they were so strict there. Somemore i was at the big area at the fountain in front of cineleisure.
He could have just politely approach and ask me to keep the camera....so guys...just a note here...careful when you wanna take photos at The Curve.
Pity...such a nice place to take photos.......:P :P

Yeah I heard about similar behaviour by guards there before, they are very strict on photography.

Which is odd, as it tends to publicise and help promote the place for free.

Their loss I guess.

Yeah ST.....pity...such a nice place. I manage to snap a few shots...I wonder why they don't let ppl take photos outside The Street...if its inside i can understand...wonder if they chase the tourist off as well...

I wonder what kinda power do they have to dismiss people from taking photos. You are standing in an open area which is public right? Its not like you are taking pics within inside the shopping complex.

i kena before, frens birthday party so we decided to gather around to have a group shoot near the fountain, some guard came over and told me to keep it, and i said What ?

and he ordered me to do so in a loud tone, i told him one more word from you and i'll make sure you go home with your arse in your head. he called his manager i told his manager off (basically i **** him up) and later next following day i called up Boustead Holdings and gave them a peace of my mind.

I had a very nasty encounter with Boustead Property's before when my parents bought a property nearby recently, so another round of firing on them. This time no holes barred hahaha. Apologies came as they want to look good in their property business.

Apparently the property management folks are quite sensitive abt pictures of the place as its the first of a kind kind of retail outlet concept in Malaysia. So they dont want others to copy them. However their top management folks in Wisma Boustead are not tat overzealous unlike their crappy middle management staff. Isnt big company's famous for this, messages cant be delivered across the board

Just becareful of these buggers. Give them a silly uniform and wanna act big.

note Jay - the open area still belongs to them Curve - Bousted Holdings. even if its not stated.

There should be signs of 'No camera allowed' or the like if photography is not allowed in the premises. If not, I don't think they can stop us from taking photos. Though the premises belong to Boustead Holdings, if they want to open the place to the public with restrictions, they should spell out the restrictions somewhere. If not, the public can do anything they want to in the premises as long as it is not against the law.

Well..later when i go get my car..i notice at the glass door..they have a sticker there "no photography". But who would have notice..it's kinda small also....:P
i wouldnt be this unhappy if they were nicer....they are just plain RUDE!!...gives you the nasty face...gosh..

There ARE signs that says No Photography.... I've seen it on the glass exits to the underground parking area. Very insignificant. And you wont see it unless you're looking for it.

Yesh i think it really sucks if you're having a dinner or getogether thing with friends at one of the sidewalk area and they ban you from taking a group photo.

owh really?
when i went there like 3-4 weeks ago, i saw many ppl taking photos near the fountain area.
but of course, not using dSLR, most of them use PnS.
and some even shoot video.
and there's a group of young kids shoot video of two of their friends (couple of course) kissing on the overhead bridge.
no guard came...
next time i should keep my camera where it belongs. :D

Every shopping complex have the same restrictions. No cameras. It all boils down to the management whether they want to apply the rules strictly. Looks like The Curve does. Suria KLCC is more relaxed on this.

I don't even dare to pull-out my camera at KLCC coz the guards are everywhere.
even at the smokin area also got. very scary. hehe.
but sometimes i see this "double-standard" thingy.
for example, if tourist took photos, the guard sometimes let them be or talk to them politely.
but when it comes to local, expect the worst! hehe...
like i said, SOMETIMES.. :D

Well KLCC they let you take photos at the center area and the outside..the fountain area. I was there snapping away 2 weeks ago, and there are so many ppl and tourist taking photos and videos all around. :)

Wow, I didn't know they were so strict! Looks like more and more places are becoming less camera-friendly ... or should I say less DSLR-friendly :(

Well, I guess I'll just be on guard next time I'm in those places. Look left-right-top-bottom ... no guard ... quickly snap :D:D I guess this kinda can help in training me to be more spontaneous and quicker in my compositions :D

Next time when the guards come to tell you off, you speak to them in Japanese or Korean. See what is their response.:D

If we can't take photograph for commercial use only then can we take photograph for personal use only?
