i stayed in one of the guest house in Pantai Tengah, nv know low season can get cheaper place at Pantai Cenang:azz:

thanks alan, tat time was around 2pm, sun was very bright and hot....when at the middle station. But when reach the top, it was OK for a while only

Island hopping is one of the cheapest activity, only RM35 from 9.30am-1.30pm(morning) or 2pm to 6pm(afternoon)

Other favorite activities are:
1. Mangrove tour (9.30am-3.30pm) RM160
2. Fishing (4 hours depending on the tide) RM250 per boat max 4 person
3. Snorkeling in Pulau Payar Marine Park (9.30am-3.45pm) RM220

If u got spare time, go for island hopping and snorkeling, this is wat ppl will normally do :)

For transport, I rent a car. If u go by boat, some ppl at Kuala Kedah Jetty will start to approach you already, and I got my car from there, RM45 for an Iswara, 3D2N. Then when wanna take car from Kuah Jetty, they said the price is actually for Kancil and wanna give me a Kancil, I said I already nego the price at K.Kedah and I insist to take the Isware bcoz I'm a 6 footer, hard to drive a Kancil.

I think is better for you find your car when u raech Kuah Jetty, it got a lot of counter and choices. Now it's low season, the car rental will be cheaper for around 20%, if rent from airport also will be the same price.

Dun get kancil or iswara, those are drinker...u'll spend a lot on petrol...get at least a Wira, power steering and better fuel consumption, LOL!

Did you try the Lighthouse restaurant in Pantai Tengah? The steak that I had was really awesome, cooked to what I'd call perfection to my taste :D It's quite pricey though :( But the environment was really awesome, listening to the sound of waves and water hitting the shores while you enjoy your meal :) Aaah, bliss!

first nite dinner, buy some food from Kuah Pasar Malam and settle it at Pantai Cenang, cheap and nice :D

2nd nite dinner, go to the Coco beach, eat thai food.....nice environment, but food....yucks

Gonna shoot lots of aeroplane and I need 500mm :(

for short distance, u can travel by foot or taxi....but if u wanna round the island, it's better to have own transport(rent a car or bike). It is bigger than Penang but you wont get lost there :D

Your Langkawi photo sets is very beautiful, making me rising of mood wanted to go there. I plan to go next year 2008.

L.I.M.A 2007 is approaching and I think tourism related is getting expensive there :P Prefer low season in better deal. :D
