Yeah i thought so too, but the 2nd, it isnt a jumping spider, for it spun its own web, and it doesnt have the distinctive set of eyes of a jumping spider. :)

Oh sorry dude got your image links the wrong way around, haha. The first isnt a crab spider, I'd seen something similar to it, a shield something something. I doubt the 2nd is a jumping spider, does have similar eyes, but I've never seen a jumping spider with such large legs infront. :D

Edit: Garden Orb Weaver, that's the name of the first unknown spider.

CM, you installed a rope ladder around your pine trees? :D:D

Most probably had a time getting clsoe to them hence the slightly off DOF, beautiful takes nonetheless. :D

Whoa! The one with the spiny back looks kinda unique :D

Btw, MNS forwarded it to a Dr Laurence G Kirton of FRIM, and he doesn't know either :D Our administration, as usual, no word yet.

Yeah been windy lately, but I still wanna shoot. Tricky, but I try to manage.

I cant ID the one with the spines on its back, got 4 yellow dots on its body. :0

Thanks for forwarding the image alan, I greatly appreciate it, have had many doors slammed in my face. I'm trying to contact my university's science faculty and seeing if they've got any contacts for me.

Galee, I shoot with a lumix FZ-50 and a raynox DCR-250 attached to the front. Sorry to disappoint you as well but that's my girlfriend in my avatar. :D

I dont breed them, hahaha, I wouldnt know how to. You can find spiders anywhere, just got to look very very closely. Your eyes need to be trained to spot webs. Spiders like to lurk in dark corners, look there.

Dont worry, none of these are deadly. None of them have any venom nor do they bite. They're actually very very small. :D

Creepy man!! Great series!

Yes it's creepy looking through the camera and seeing them magnified. Thanks thanks. :)

Here's 2 more of that Garden Orb Weaver,

Ah thanks dude, interesting, did some googling and found some other samples that had similar front arms. Must be from the parnaenus family then. :)
