Not sure if this helps, but if you're interested in shooting butterflies, here are some good tips
http://www.earthboundlight.com/phototips/chasing-butterflies.html

Before you go out and buy, why don't you check out the resources on the net. Next, I'd sit at a good bookstore like Kinokunya and read all the books on macro photography. When I find a really good book, then I'd consider buying it. And most good books are Rm100+ (you'll be lucky if you find a good book for Rm50+)
Good luck and have fun!

PS - here's another useful website I found

So far came across only a few books on macro in the local bookstores. Check out amazon, ebay etc. Or best...PM Caveman (Buy Caveman beer and he will share with you everything) or CrazyMalaysian, go out with them one of these days and you dont need to get a book anymore :D :D :D

Honestly, I don't have any macrophotography book, all I have is a few kindergarten books belong to my daughters. :D

Probably I should write a book on macrophotography. Just kidding, I am still learning like you. :)

if found a good book but not available, perhaps, you may try to ask Borders to order for you, ST.

I'm curious, what sort of good advice do these books provide? Worth buying for a read?

Usually there are 3 category of photography book:-

1. General - you don't need this (unlesss TOTALLY, GREEN, noobie in photography)

2. How to - gears, accessories, exposure, composition, what to do and what to avoid

3. Just photo and not much information on photography techniques, but you buy it anyway coz the photo worth for inspiration.

So for macro photography books, I suggest:

for no 2:
2915. Ref Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Guide-Close-Macro-Photography/dp/0715312766/ref=si3_rdr_bb_product/102-1899546-5163314)

for no 3:
2916. Ref to his site here (http://www.thomasmarent.com/cms/). I wish one day I can shoot as good as him!
