Gradual Blend 1 photo into another - How to ?

Hi guys !! Wanna ask how to blend 1 photo into another ar ? i think 1 forummer did it for a Karen Kong's photo .. it's like the main photo is a wide angle of stage then there are lots of space on the top ..

Then he/she add a huge face of Karen on the top there .. it blend nicely to the background .. then the face is clear .. then the neck down starts to fade ... sort of like ghost pic haha

Hope u guys get wat i mean =.=" Try to search back that photo but cant find .. hope some1 can teach me that tactic :)

Just add it on a new layer, add a layer mask then fill the layer with a gradient.

It's called a gradient mask.
