Hi. I always have a problem with portraiture and can't seem to get people to blend in with the scenes or patterns in the surroundings. It's easy to just snap clean shots of portraitures without distractions with long lenses...but how do you compose a portrait with the surrounding elements also in it?
I've tried leaving the subject at the end of the line(zig zag or s line) in the frame but that results in a portrait which is too small...
I've tried blending portraits with abstracts but that's just created some really ghastly effect.
I'm trying to think out of the box here but somehow all the shots that I've tried, just hasn't worked out to my liking.
It's easy to compose with a scenery...but with abstracts or lines...it becomes very hard to blend. Sometimes I see photos of model with the orange brick wall, which is very nice,...but photography, if we always practise the same concept, becomes very stale and boring...
Anyone has any advise on how to mix these s line elements together with human subjects to create a beautiful photo?
Eg. Louis Pang's shot of the couple kissing with the square stairs around them...very nice shot!
Yes I have problems composing with the bride up at the balcony with a stairs swirling down towards me....
Please advise...thanking you in advance!
