Hi all.

Just wanna share an old picture taken with my good old Nikon FM2(n), together with MD-12, Sigma 28-200mm, using expired Kodak MAX 400. Sorry can't remember the original setting, but definitely at 3.2fps, 200mm, and pre-focus manually.

(At that time, I think regular Official MRC photographers like Mr. ShukPhoto and M5 team photographer, were already using those EOS-1D)

Thanks! Let's share those Subaru taken with film!

p/s: At 3.2fps, manual exposure setting and focusing, usually 1 out of 10 shots came out ok. But still not good enough.

Beyond dude! Every year there is the Malaysian Rally Championship. There should be some Subaru Impreza, Mitsubishi Evo and Ford Focus for us to photography.

Any ShutterAsia member will want to organize a trip to MRC event this year?

Shooting rallies is exciting. Cleaning up the equipments immediately at night is a must. Used to do that in my film days. Can't remember where the pictures are today. :D

Malaysian Rally is a free-to-photograph sports. Not like F1 and some others. Lets share those Rally moment. And of course, using those film cameras! hehe!

Your photo sure is OOF or shutter was not high enough. I used to shoot rallies in India during my Med Univ days. Got some published too. Don't know where those mags & pix are now. You should have pre-focussed & panned. Just my thoughts.

A good attempt with the FM2.

Inspired zud.... digged out some of my crappy old rally pix. All taken around mid-90s with Scoobies and Evos of the era. Pix badly faded, tried my best to adjust.

Failed panning. Blame it on the technology? No digicam yet then, so can't instantly check result. And can't practice often enough due to the high cost of shooting films.

I was told that during the early days of DSLRs, for example at KL Commonwealth Game 1998, the price was arounf RM60K and memory was by carrying an external hard disk.

If I'm not mistaken (no digital info keke), it was in 1997. Those days PERT rebadged Mistubishi Evos for rally. It was officially recognised as a Proton by FIA.
