I'm going to buy D200 + 18-200 VR but Made In China..Based on the price list it is indicate that the price /unit is really cheap compared to nikon made in Thailand...

I received an email from my friend regard a China web for selling electronic and photography staff.
Then I email over to COD ( like you say D200+18-200 is so cheap) then they replay with different price. At first I wanted to buy badly, now not so, due to lots of uncomfortable pricing and conditions. Check-up before you pay online, maybe is a scam.

As far as I know of most if not all Nikon slr cameras are made in Thailand (correct me if I am wrong). Hardly heard of any that is made in China. Be careful as it could be a fake or scam like davech said.

What was really concern me is the quality of the Nikon made in china..
My friend is in China now and waiting the green light from me. But I realy doubt with china quality.. If the quality as similar as nikon made in thailand, i think better grab siince the price is 50% difference..

thats odd. as far as i know, only their self manufactured accesories stuff are cheap. those body and lens would not be any cheaper. some may even be more expensive.

check their former ebay site.

You better do some more research, as far as I know Nikon don't make any bodies in China only Thailand and Japan for the high end models.

From what I understand they only make some of the cheap lenses in China like 50mm f/1.8.

I suggest you call Nikon and ask them.

My Nikon D50 body is made in Thailand.
never had a problem so far. never went into servicing after almost 2 years of using it. I personally take good care of it though.

The same lens whether made in China or Thailand or Japan should have the same price. Prices are controlled by Nikon. Only dealers will offer different discounts within the margin that they get from Nikon. If you're offered a different price for "made in China" then beware. You buy at your own risk.

careful with scam... you might end up with NIKLON 200D. :D

anyway, i only heard about the quality comparison between thailand-made and japan-made. but when u think about it again, why need to worry when you have warranty to support it? that's why go for warranty, not the price. coz at the end of the day, u may loose more.

IMHO i have never trusted anything from China except from Hong Kong, best place in Asia besides Japan to buy camera's.
Anything further up North sorry. no can do.
