Hello all,
I am Newbie here. I am wondering can I keep my camera into vertical camera beg (Kata DC441)with my lens hood attahed? Has anyone of you experience breaked your hood by doing this?
I am lazy to take it off. Are you guys and gals always use the lens hood during shoot out?

No problem. Just "terbalik" the lens hood.

Hmm.. any reason why you don't want to "terbalik" the hood? If tak mau terbalik, then logically, it depends on the length of the lens. If there's sufficient free space from tip of hood to floor of bag with the camera body sitting snugly on the padded partition it maybe be alright. Haha, if the hood breaks, just buy another one.

Mine is always attached, not terbalik. I put it with the hood facing the bag. Now more than 2 years my hood still not spoil...Easy to take out the camera and no need to use lenscap. But my bag got a round ring shape...but its all right :)

Using lens hood doesn't mean no need lens cap. When not shooting for an extended period of time, better to put back the cap.

If there's space I always keep it on forwards, for those with long lenses like telephoto I always terbalik the hood to save space.
Never broken one yet.

Like that.... then I may have to change to horizon loading beg...but I found that the vertical loading beg are much more smaller..... have anyone having the national geography beg? it looks cool like a treasure hunt beg....

Currently using some hoya colapsible hoods. Those are made of rubber, so no fuss about removing and storing or breaking one, but you cant cap the lens.

my lens hood fit into the bag nicely even without reversing.
not likely you're gonna break it unless someone really apply heavy pressure on it.
remember that lens hoods are rounded, it's not a FLAT plane. rounded constructions are harder to break, you apply pressure to the top and it's channelled to the side balballabla.
so really, if you can break the lens hood then i actually wonder why are you worrying about the hood when the rest of your gears are at risk. :)

Unfortunately, not all hoods are round. In fact, most are tulip-styled or butterfly type - with a pair of opposing lips jutting out like tongues & another shorter pair at right angle to the 1st pair. It's possible for the tips of the longer tongues to get chipped off. Anyway, they do protect the lens.

it's still circular though. not totally but has a portion.
like the hood from my Sigma lens, it looks like those worms seen in the movie adaptation of Dune, like the ones you described.
it is still tough and will definitely take quite some pressure to break.
