Good pictures but to me:
1. The groom should have smiled a little bit more;
2. A full body framing would be better for the pic on the right;
3. The background look a little busy and distracting - the cars esp. the red one.

The bride seems happy... but the groom... i think its a forced marriage? lol
Anyway both pic seems identical on the level of camera is held, perhaps positioning yourself and camera would bring more angle and will bring more "Variety" feel to the whole collection....
Just an idea... :D

Yah, feel akward looking at the pics with the grooms face like that..perhaps he thinks it's 'gaya' look or something.
I think you need to bump background exposure another stop too.

Sifu, #1 looks like not enough light wor
And yes, I agree about the groom's unsmiling face ... yenna dei! Wedding lar, smile a bit lar :D
Did they ask for it to be shot at night?
Looks like you'll need to set things up like Jayhan did for his Shirley Chan shoot :D

Totally agree with u guys. There was actually a wedding reception at the Putrajaya hall. It was on adhoc basis that we take abt 5 mins to shoot a couple of outdoor shots. Unforetunately, it was dark by the time make-up was completed. As for the bridegroom.......I think out of the hundred shots I took, only a handful is with his smile on it.
Need to work on the groom's expression :) This is a happy moment mar :D Plus the pics seems a little underexposed. The groom's hair seems lost into the background in #2.

dude, i've experience this alot. here's a trick.. don't do a pose shots. its simple. couples are not models. and yes, the bride are always vain and the groom most of the time shy. especially when shooting in public. so, let them be free and let them do simple things, ie: walking, running, standing looking at each other, etc.. it will work.
here's a sample of a portrait shoot that you might want to consider... LINK (http://www.iskandaribrahim.com/photography/gallery-farahizharprewedding.htm)

1. write to PDRM, BOMBA & nearest hospital
- u need PDRM to control traffic (its a must)
- u need BOMBA incase got fire (im kidding)
- u need ambulance to be on standby incase some idiot/mat rempit come and bantai red light and head for your client.. (just in case)
2. plan which day got less but got abit traffic
3. crazy idea sells..

Tried editing, improved? Brightened the background building and darken the red car. unfortunately cannot make him smile.

As a guide line do not amputate legs at the ankle, go for the full shot or half shot above the knee ( shot No 1 ). U can't get good shots if the couple are too damn tired n just longing to...... go back home lah.
Try using off camera flash technique; either by remote/slave or using long wired.

Photo #2 will be more nice if their body are full in frame, or just half like #1.
Only feet missing could make it looks weird...
Just my opinion.. hehehehehe ;)

Yeah it is a pity that the groom isn't smiling too much as compared to the bride.

let the groom smile using photoshop... i think it should be in the liquify tool... there is a smile button there... :) actually i forgot what the button is... i usually would watch photoshop tv and it was featured in one of their episodes...

im not gonna say much on poses and BG's cuz many has put their words down
there is definitely something wrong with the exposure bro. might need to bump up the flash a bit more but need to be careful as not to overblown the highlights.
