your answer bring me to another question...
so the scanned negative is different from the negative that they usually put in the plastic? :?
edit:
ok, i think i have found the answer to my question.
http://www.computer-darkroom.com/tutorials/tutorial_6_1.htm
so the scanned negative looks exactly like the one we get after the development.
need a few steps of converting it to color version.

Actually.... if you have a dedicated film scanner, they will automatically invert the colours right for you instead of you having to take extra steps to convert it to the proper colour.
I usually batch-scan my negs whenever I borrow my friend's Coolscan IV ED, so imagine if I have to invert every single one of them one by one!! Madness! As it is scanning a roll of 36 takes 1 hour already.
P/S: Get a good scanning software like VueScan. I use VueScan (software) + Coolscan IV (scanner) to do mine. They come out perfect "out of the box". Also, they have a drop down list for you to choose your media type like B&W film, Reala film la, this film la Fuji film la so that the colours are more close to accuracy that way.

Could someone compile a list of sites and resources (or even including books) that are useful for film shooters - something similar to what we have in other sections.

In Penang, where's the best place to get negative film developed? Last I tried, the colours like not pekat. Maybe trying to save ink cost. They use digital printer instead of analog to print photos from film these days right? Quality like not on par to zaman dulu one.
