Photo Ops? Driving from S'pore to KL/Penang

A friend from the States is planning a trip to S'pore between Nov & March. I suggested that he rent a car & cross the border. If you were to do this drive, what route would you take & where would you stop for photo ops? Any suggestions and links to info / sample images are appreciated

Stop by in Melaka, and have a good time around. There's A Famose, St Paul's Church, Stadhuys, Jonker Street, etc. I'd spend about a day there if I were on the way to Singapore from KL.

eerr... i would advise him to pull out of the toll way after melacca then use the trunk road.... he ll be amazed by those kampong lifestyle if he has seen those b4
