buying lights and softbox

hi guys, i do portrait and food photography and right now my attached 430EX + lambency flash diffuser is proving to be quite insufficient...especially if the location is really lacking natural light

im now looking at soft boxes and continuous lights that is as portable as possible ....im considering

1. elinchrom's d-lite 2 (sinalite is discontinued) - 3088 (with 2 ori square softboxes)

2. Much cheaper china brands like jinbei, f&v

apart from initial cost comparison ..which is pretty big considering a jinbei set that sells a 180W set for 999..what should i look out for specifically and any recommendations?

hi calvin...was was thinking if i need battery powered ones but then again the places i take these photos have sufficient power sources..and in the worst case i need to carry along an extension cord....i was impressed with dlite because everything packs into 2 slim bags (slim but not light)

any thoughts on these china brands?

Getting the light is not a problem, you should consider the light modifier too.
