I like your photo. I think the golden grass do make a bigger impact on blue sky vs b&w version. Maybe you can increase b&w contrast will give more I guess.

same as nicole.

i love the orange foreground which to me is the main subject of attention. And, when in B&W the power color is omitted hence leaving the image for the texture and designs it has. Probably the contrast can be tweaked, and also I would want to try for a low shot of the trail parting the foreground. I wonder how it would turn out to be

Anyway, its a good piece of material for what-ifs.. i find it fun to learn too

(BTW, there at least 2 big blops of sensor dust on the b&w sky. easily removed and it should be in your workflow)

i prefer the 2nd pict more~

These two images gives a feel to how colour or lack of it impacts a picture...very nice.

however if u play around btw luminance and luminosity... it will give some impact for the BnW...
