KLCC from near Jalan Ipoh

Took this earlier just now (7.30pm) @ this area just off Jalan Ipoh. I was walking and saw the view quite nice so whip out my camera, adjust it to manual mode and shot this...

Now here's a question I want to ask, I was hoping to take a few shots and try one of those HDR thing you guys were talking about. But after this one shot, my camera just wouldn't work on me. It basically just "hang". I could adjust the ISO and all that, but I couldn't take any pictures.

Why is that so? What causes my Camera to stop working? I look in the viewfinder, click on the trigger and nothing happened, no focusing, no snapping.. nothing....

I removed the battery pack, remove the lens and all that stuff and it didn't work. But it worked again an hour later like nothing happened earlier.

Different perspective.

Better if you remove your lens filter to avoid flare (on top of one of the tower) and watch out for your slightly tilting horizon.

As for the jammed camera, it's a sign to upgrade to a higher system.

If you're doing long exposure over 8 seconds it's probably long exposure noise reduction.

If you take a 30 second shot, the camera will be 'dead' for 30 seconds whilst it takes another equivalent shot with the shutter closed, it will then use the black frame to remove any hot pixels from the final pic.

So it'll double your exposure time basically.

Initially I suspected the same as mentioned above by ST, that is the camera locked up due to in-camera NR processing

But as the camera is still not functioning properly even after removal of battery pack, lens, and others, this seems to be something more serious. Furthermore, the shutter speed was only 1 second.

Zique, can you replicate the lock-up again using similar settings? If your camera is still within warranty period, better send to Canon quickly for a check-up.

Nice capture.

Try taking the picture using all 'manual' settings.
