People watching in Tibet

Pensive….Lone tibetian woman strikes a melancholy pose ; looking at the view of Lhasa city below . Will modernisation and economic progress brought about by the booming tourism trade spell the death knoll for the tibetian culture?

Fascination to see their image in the LCD screen of the camera.

Family outing to Potala Palace

2 values I noticed of the Tibetian people. Devotion to their religion and filial piety .

Thank you!

Well, issue of cost is kind of subjective.
The major cost will be air ticket to get into Lhasa. Cheaper way is to fly budget into say Guangzhou/Senzhen and bus/train into another town, then train in to Lhasa. Bus in china is relatively cheap and comfortable. Train tickets may not necessarily be cheap, depends on the class of tickets purchased.

The other thing that will affect cost of travel to Tibet is that visa and permit will only be given if one joins a tour to Tibet.ie no independant travel.
However, there are still ways to manage cost if it is still a concern...eg the class of accom. and food .
