I think November is a good month to go. Weather is cooling and their rainy season should be over. I believe it is near the end of Autumn then so you get the winter cool air

Everywhere in Hanoi is great for street shoot. Of course the park in the middle of the Hanoi City, the Old Quarters Area are just some of the areas with more interesting shots.

And it is quite safe, but do watch out for pickpockets at crowded places. It is advisable to leave your passport in the hotel safe before venturing out. And crossing the road in Hanoi is an experience. The advice is:

1. Don't panic and run
2. Walk casually and don't freeze and stop

Basically, the motorists will avoid you, so if you panic and run or worse, stop all of a sudden, then its accident waiting to happen. When I was there, I just walked straight without looking and hoped for the best

Hey, I did some PP (HDR) on some of the shots. I think Day 1 Pic 1, Day 3 Pic 1 and a few others.

The rest were on Vivid setting.

I am quite new to photography and also owns a D40. Very nice Hanoi pics. Keen to know which 105mm lens you were using on your D40. Just scratching my head how you managed to shoot so nice pics! TQ for sharing.

Thanks alot for sharing. Was that the only lens you used for the street photography in Hanoi ? Saw some your photos in flickr - very nice indeed! Hope to learn enough to take that kind of pics. Well done!
