My Experience with Tamron in Malaysia - Futuromic

I have to say I'm impressed!

I was an event a couple of Saturdays ago and the zoom mechanism on my Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 started jamming and making a weird crunchy noise - which was bad.

I soldiered through the night with the dodgy lens (resorting to pushing/pulling it for zoom) and all pics came out with EXIF focal length 32mm (zoom circuit rosak too).

I took it to Futuromic the following Friday, they said they would check out the lens and get back to me with the price and that it should take around a week to fix.

They phone me a couple of days later to inform me it'd cost RM250, so I said go ahead.

And the next Friday it was ready, exactly one week after I took the lens there.

They did a good job on the repair, they were very professional and I found the price reasonable for the work done (Replaced F/Z ECD Circuit Board, Zoom brush, Zoom rubber, Filter ring).

Hi Shaolin Tiger,

Could you please let me know where I can bring my Tamron lense to get it cleaned up. I think there are fungus growing at the back of the lense. THanks a lot.
