IMHO the pictures looks a bit under and if you are going to use CPL to include the nice blue skies your focus should be set to infinity or use hyperfocal that way you get everything in focus. BTW you may want to turn the CPL abit think you can get it more blue.

Hope you don't mind. Some HDR may be able to save to under expose pictures.

My two cents

I love the clouds on 6 and 9. Are you using tripod when you shot the pic?

You're using CPL at midday according to your EXIF - IT WONT DO ANYTHING!

Because the sun is directly overhead, you need to be 90 degrees perpendicular to the sun.

You get much better results earlier in the morning or late afternoon.

That's why the sky looks washed out.

Frankly your pictures does not show the effects of CPL. The reason is as per ST's explanation.

The scenes are very nice though and you would have been better off if you had used 'fill in light' for some to the photos. You can always get blue skies using photoshop.

noordin : thanx noordin, can you explain a bit about your statement? [you would have been better off if you had used 'fill in light' for some to the photos]

PLa5teRz, not all the time we need to use CPL to get the blue sky. If ur angle is right, which is around 90 degrees perpendicular to the sun, u can get good sky color in nice weather.

If the sky is overcast, after rain or u're facing the sun, CPL cant help in get a nice blue sky, u'll only get dull sky and underexposed picture.

Another thing is, never use CPL when u want to involve human in the picture. Their skin tone will look terrible in the picture.

I got CPL but no longer use it to get blue sky, time and angle is important. Now I only use it when i want to avoid reflection on the glass panel or the time i want a nice reflection on the water surface (turn the CPL ring to see the different). I also use it to take pic of waterfall coz no money to buy ND filter
