I think not Tamron problem. Maybe other lens (unless Nikkor) may have this live view focusing problem too. At the end, third party lens makers may give announcement: Our certain certain lenses may have compatibility issue with D90 live view. Problem solve

Here is Nikon reply

...If they are having problem with THEIR camera... WTF, we are using YOUR NIKON DSLR.

Sheesh, I'll post ur friggin reply wherever I like, sue me

Thanks for using Nikon products!
1. SUE ME. "don't do it", not worth. Anyway thanks for sharing and I think nikkor lens should have no problem

Haha yeah nikkor lens sure no prob lar.

Thing is the tammy 17-50 focuses just fine in Nikon D300 bodies, but not in D90 bodies. So its evident its a firmware issue. They have the power to fix it but they shrug it off just like that, either that, or it's the incompetent guy who knows nothing about camera, firmwares, etc. Bet he dint even click on the link I provided, haha. Blind accusations!!

1. Hand help or tripod option in D300 LV. You are right it must be firmware that Nikon don't want to give to D90.
2. Bad news for 17-50 A16 DiII Tamron user but good news for any non-motor lenses will have no LV issues. No wonder old 17-50 so laku now.
3. My nikkor 50mm 1.8 works excellently in LV. Got one lens can do the work some more face detect ok lah.

yeah, I have the version w/o motor. So far no problems with AF in liveview.

I didn't manage to find no motor version in shops in KL/PJ. If you happen to go to Bangkok, go to Niks Thailand at Silom. I got mine from there about 1 month ago. 13,000 Baht only, and can get 7% VAT refund some more. But made in China la, which I think is not a problem.
