Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

1. I’m a newbie can I join?
Hey…it’s designed for newbies…..but seasoned shooters won’t be feeling left out either if you are asking. So far the workshop has been attended by guys/gals who have just bought their camera (some bought especially for the workshop) to journalist and seasoned photogs. So you are in right direction....dun worry you'll feel at home.

2. What gears do u expect us to bring?
I do believe that one can still get good pictures with what ever they have……ie kit lens. For outdoors….its good if you can bring along your longest lens and/or smallest aperture number. But for indoors…..kit lens will do (eg 18-55mm).

3. Is a laptop necessary? What if I don’t have one?
It’s not compulsory…however it’s nice if u can bring one to the workshop coz we will calibrate your LCD for the right color. If you are serious in color photography…then you’ll want one….coz it’s FREE.

4. Is there any discounts if I take both the outdoors and indoors?
Unless you are repeating participants from last months’ workshops, then the discounts does not apply…even though you book for 2 slots this month. Hey…..look forward for my full scale workshop end of the year….u can enjoy the discounts then!

5. How long is the workshop duration?
It normally runs for about 7 hours with breaks in between. So far the workshops starts at 8am sharp for both indoors n outdoors (mores so) and ends at about 3pm.

6. What am I gonna learn from the workshop?
You will get to learn how to get good portraitures outdoors and indoors. The do’s n don’ts in portraiture. Nothing better than hands on…we will guide you and let you make mistakes along the way. You will learn much faster that way.

7. Do I need to bring flash/strobe for the workshop?
Both the outdoors n indoors session doesn’t require you to bring your flash. But for indoors…as long as you have your on board flash….that will do just fine.

8. Is the monitor calibration important?
Again if you are serious about getting pro results……you will need it. The colors need to be accurate in order to be gauged accurately when you post processed your photos later.

9. Will the software allow multiple installations?
Since there are no server checks on the software……it can be installed to any amount of computers.

10. Will there be further advance workshops after this?
This is a definite plan of mine as a follow up from this. Currently I’m planning a photography camp/seminar like a 2 days/3nights thing maybe some where in Cameron Highlands. With proper theme, 2/3 models, full scale props etc.

11. Will we get to learn Post Processing (PP)?
What’s photography without PP right…even during film days…..we use to PP too. But its done in the darkroom…now its on a computer. You will get to learn the proper techniques of portraiture PP….again the do’s n dont’s.

12. Is there any minimum number of participants set?
Yes there is....the minimum is 6 or the session will be postponed to an another date which will be confirmed later.

13. Will there be refunds if I (participant) can't make it?
Refunds are made when the postponement/cancellation are made on the organizer's part and not the participants. However you will be placed under deferrals.

But this does not mean deferrals are struck off the list tho...as a gesture we will hold ur name until u are free to attend the workshop in the near future.

We are currently in the midst of increasing the fee starting of next year tho urs won't be affected as we considered as a paid participant. Do note however, the deferral has a 4 months limited period tho starting the month u deferred.

14. How do I make bookings?
Bookings/reserves are only done once payment is secured. Your name/nick will be place in the list once it is done.

Again for any enquiries…..do drop me an email at: zamrudku@yahoo.com or call me at 012-3555906
