Hello from Doc and dad

Thank you to ShaolinTiger for the heads up and the invite to join this forum. Besides saying hello I would like to post a pix of my dad cos I am having some calibration problem with my Dell 24" LCD monitor. This pix was processed with my laptop at home but when I viewed it this morning at my office with the Dell LCD I noticed my pix is a bit dark. I re-PPed it and this is what I got. Pls tell me what you see with your PC. Thanks and a big hello again to all. I really like the speed of this forum.

BTW at what level of brightness should I use before I calibrate it with my calibrator?

Taken during Qing Ming yesterday.

Welcome Doc!

I would say it is a touch dark.

What I would suggest is open the RAW in Photoshop CS2 and turn on the highlight warning.

Then tweak the exposure until just before you get blown highlights.

Then adjust your brightness so that level looks natural on your monitor at your desired viewing angle.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! The problem is with my laptop then...time to recalibrate that.

Alan, I'll try it in B&W soon.

Deric, glad you like this one. I'll be sharing more whenever I have any worthwhile to share.

Thanks again guys!
